ScreenPlay has been in the business of promotional video for over twenty years.

The story began when Mark Vrieling, our founder and CEO, had an idea about how to rent more of the great movies he had at his chain of video rental stores. Why not make a compilation tape of trailers for these films, and show it on TV screens around the store? When people started renting the movies based on the trailers being shown in his stores, he knew he was on to something. In fact, he got so good at making these compilation tapes he could predict exactly what movies would be rented.
He approached other local video rental chains to see if they'd be interested in his compilation reels. They were. That's when he knew he had a great business idea, and ScreenPlay was born.
Fast forward a few years, to the arrival of the Internet as a viable multimedia distribution medium, and once again you'll find ScreenPlay in a pioneering role. ScreenPlay was one of the first companies to deliver streaming video on the Internet. In 1999 ScreenPlay built the first content management system specifically tailored to the marketing and promotional needs of motion picture studios, enabling studios to manage their assets through a simple browser interface, and deliver in-depth reporting and ROI analysis. With the latest release of ScreenPlay Passport™, ScreenPlay now delivers promotional assets to nineteen different countries in twelve different languages.

Over the years ScreenPlay has grown from an idea to a company employing over 40 people, doing business with the world's largest music companies and motion picture studios. Our promotional video network is seen by over thirty million people each month, delivering over 300 million impressions online, in retail, and in hospitality environments. If you've surfed the Internet, been to a club, or wandered through a music or video store recently, chances are you saw video delivered by ScreenPlay.
